City Councilor, Rebecca Lisi, secures Western MA Area Labor Federation endorsement, as well as endorsements from individual area locals.
The Western Mass Area Labor Federation (WMALF), represens over 25,000 workers from across Western Massachusetts. Endorsements are determined through a democratic process by which WMALF delegates from private- and public-sector unions in Hampden County vote to endorse candidates based upon the research and recommendations of the Pioneer Valley Assembly’s Committee on Political Education. The WMALF encourages all Holyoke voters to cast their vote for labor’s endorsed candidates this Election Day, November 5, 2019, because of their strong positions in support of policies that benefit working people.
The WMALF endorses candidates who support their vision for workers in Western Massachusetts: public investments that benefit the community and workers; safe and dignified work for all; strong public schools; policies that support workers’ right to organize; responsible economic development that shares benefits with workers; and other policies that create a better life for all working people of Western Mass. They work with endorsed candidates to ensure that in every city council meeting, and in every municipal ordinance, the voices of working people are represented in a meaningful way.
In addition to the WMALF endorsement, Lisi has secured endorsements from other individual area locals including United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) 1459, the Carpenters Union Local 336, and Ironworkers Local 7.
