Our elected leaders have a moral obligation to care for the city’s finances. We need a centralized and coordinated financial management team that is able to plan and implement effective fiscal policies.

WHAT I’VE DONE

In 2019 I sought professional guidance on how to improve the City’s credit rating. I also support the Department of Revenue and Local Services recommendation to create a Finance Director position to oversee the financial management of the City in a non-politicized manner.

AS MAYOR I WILL

Continue to work through the 2007 and 2015 DOR/DLS reports on to adopt a series of policies that will serve as financial best practices that will improve our financial standing and avoid falling into state receivership.
