Internet access must be treated as a utility as more and more essential activities are taking place online. Holyoke must develop its own internet network order to maintain a competitive edge in attracting new families and businesses to the city.

WHAT I’VE DONE
In 2019, I sponsored a ballot initiative to gauge the feasibility of a residential fiber optic network. In 2021, I successfully introduced a Resolution in opposition to Comcast’s predatory data cap policy. I am presently working with City Councilors from four other communities to understand the potential for a regional partnership in advancing our mutual goals around internet access.
AS MAYOR I WILL
Work in close partnership with Holyoke Gas and Electric to ensure that we have the municipal fiber capabilities Holyoke needs in order to improve equity in education, healthcare, and employment and maintain its competitive edge in attracting new businesses and residents to the city.
